The year that wasn’t…

Well, it’s been a minute since we updated our blog! That doesn’t mean that nothing has been happening, far from it! We will get to adding more info here and sharing stories as we go through the fall. We actually had a super busy summer season with turtles at Sandy Point, and it took all our energy!

In the meantime though, the turtle patrol team is still busy (very busy) every day out at Sandy Point (7 days a week), recording all the green turtle (and some hawksbill) activity that is still happening. We are nearing the end of the season, but we are still getting about 15 green nests and a couple hawksbill nests per day. It’s really mostly hatching season now, up to 40 nests are hatching every night!

Please check our homepage every Sunday for updated turtle stats and thanks for your support! A like on Facebook and a follow on Instagram help us too 🙂

The St. Croix Sea Turtle Project is supported by the Sea Turtle Census Initiative, which is sponsored by  The Ocean Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, based in Washington, D.C., but working globally to protect our oceans.
