About Us

The St. Croix Sea Turtle Project works in collaboration with many organizations in the US Virgin Islands to promote and improve sea turtle conservation. St. Croix has the third highest sea turtle nest counts (three species and critical habitat) for any state or territory under US jurisdiction, and there is much left to be done!

Our Mission: To support sea turtle conservation in the US Virgin Islands and to raise awareness of sea turtles across the territory. To achieve our goal of elevating the status of USVI sea turtles to the global sea turtle conservation community, we work to:

  • Support & promote standardized sea turtle surveys for USVI
  • Provide support for other organizations (funding, volunteers)
  • Support St. Croix youth employment in sea turtle biology
  • Mentor graduate students, assist with research project ideas
  • Train volunteers for a strong sea turtle network in the USVI

Please contact us at stxturtles @ gmail.com or follow us on Facebook  or on Instagram We look forward to hearing from you.
