It’s finally happened! Sandy Point National Wildlife Refuge has its first leatherback nest of 2018! Early this morning, our volunteers Dante and Romina patrolled the refuge and found, not one, but TWO leatherback activities. Although we didn’t see the females who left the nests, we may be able to use genetics later on to identify the moms.
It’s a very happy Friday! It’s time to start the season!
