Name a turtle for your Valentine!

A special gift for the special person in your life who loves nature and animals! Adopt a nesting leatherback turtle (you get to name her!), or a nest of leatherback hatchlings! We’ll send you a printable certificate by Valentine’s Day, and then send you regular updates on your turtle or nest. All donations are tax-deductible (a gift for you!).

We already have our first two named turtles for 2018 – Jillene (Peter and Jill White) and MaryLisa (Tim Mauney and family)!

For a $100 donation to The Sea Turtle Census, you can name a nesting turtle in St. Croix. You’ll get an adoption certificate, a leatherback T-shirt, a sticker, a notification each time your turtle nests and a summary at the end of the season with her stats (# of nests, dates seen, etc.). To name a turtle, go to the following link, enter your information, and in the Comments box, add the turtle name you’d like and the person you are adopting her for. Name your turtle for 2018!

For a $50 donation, you can adopt a nest. You’ll receive an adoption certificate, a leatherback sticker, and the stats about your nest at the end of the season (date laid, nesting mom, how many hatchlings emerged, etc.). To adopt a nest, go to the following link and enter your information. In the Comment box, please mention that you are adopting a nest and who it is for. Adopt a nest here for 2018!

Thank you so much for your support! Donations go directly to supporting our volunteers who spend their summer days and nights on the nesting beach helping protect these turtles.

Hatchlings emerge from their nest below the sand and get ready to run for the water.

The Sea Turtle Census at The Ocean Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization. When you donate online, you’ll instantly get a tax receipt for 2018.
